My rating:

Will I watch it again? No.

Is it me or did Jean Rollin do two kinds of films, arthouse and sexploitation/hardcore porn?  I've seen several of his pictures and it seems like that about sums him up.  This one is pure sexploitation.  By the way, the girls just happen upon the isolated house.  There's no hitchhiking involved, not that I'm getting picky or anything.  If you're going to watch this you're only interested in one thing...

Considering this is a softcore sexploitation affair, there's more story than you'd expect but it all takes place in and around this large house in the woods and the minimal setting gets old.  For the most part the music is bouncy and upbeat in a dixieland sort of way but there are several scenes with a fife and drum cue that annoyed the fuck out of me.  But who the hell cares, right?  You're here for the scenery and torture, right?

Overall it's only mildly interesting and that's if you can appreciate the naked women.  The English dubbing is good considering this is a low budget skin flick.  This is one of several shitty pictures in a Fortune 5 DVD set called Grindhouse Experience.  Nearly all of the films are crappy and, unless you dig scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to movies of the 70s (which I do) and you can get this set for cheap, it's not worth the money or the time.  But that's coming from a duded who's watched every movie in the set.  There are no extras.
